m.i.a.

No, we haven't adopted yet.

Yes, it's been a year.

I'm just to frustrated to post.

We are unhappy with our social worker, but were told we cannot change. If we went to another family services center, we'd have to start over from scratch.

We are currently waiting to hear on two sets of siblings:
  1. 2 boys, ages 2 and 4
  2. a boy and a girl, ages 6 months (well 7 now) and 4 years
I don't know what else to say. F R U S T R A T I O N

Hang in there, sweetheart. You WILL make fabulous parents to some very lucky child or children. I really believe that it will happen for you. And how cool would it be to get *two* kids at once--overwhelming in the short term, but it'll be so much fun. Keep us posted--I have a bunch of baby/kid things I could send, depending on what you need. There are also a ton of consignment sales up here for baby and kid stuff--let me know, and I will be your personal Northern VA shopper!

My husband and I are going through the same thing. I feel like all I do is wait, and wait, and wait. I am way past frustration at this point so I know what you are going through. We just got a new social worker 6 months ago, and even though she has better follow up, she still hasn't made any progress getting us matched. Hang in there, you are not alone.

I'm sorry to hear you've been waiting for so long. I'm praying that things speed up and you hear some wonderful news soon!

The start of this blog rings so true to me! "No, we haven't adopted yet. Yes, it's been a year." Last May is when we set off on our independent adoption journey, finalizing our first homestudy in October, our second (along with our foster care licenses) this past July, inquiring on a good 20+ waiting kids on photolistings, having 2 bmoms change their mind, and I'm wondering...what is it going to take for us to finally become parents?!

I can only offer company for your misery (lol), bc I know I don't want to hear another person tell me to "just be patient" - what do you think we've been the past 15+ months?

I do hear it makes it that much more rewarding when your little ones finally do come home...:)
